Where?

If you choose to ski Ellmau, you will be nestling between the Kitzbüheler Alps and the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains. Austrian ski resorts offer ski holidays like no other European country. There's plenty of good skiing and snowboarding in the area, with links to the resorts at Brixen im Thale, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Scheffau, Soll. Access is easy too, with both Salzburg and Innsbruck around 85 kms away making this good for weekends as well as week long holidays.

On the slopes

With 20 pistes and 43km locally, intermediates and advanced skiers and boarders have some good pistes to contened with outside of the larger Ski Welt area. Characterised by gentle tree-lined runs that beginners or intermediates will love, beginers are also particularly well catered for here with great ski schools and some excellent learner slopes. More advanced skiers will need to head deeper into the Ski Welt area to find something that really challenges them. Boarders might also find they have to search for terrain that excites them, but there is a lot of off-piste, a lot of which is through tree's and bringing together jumps, lips and more. Did you also know, Ellmau is home to the fastest funicular in Austria - meaning less waiting and more action all round.

Off the slopes

The village of Ellmau and its neighbour Going are full of Austrian charm and atmosphere - this is everyone's Alpine vision of a ski holiday brought to life. There's a relaxed feel, with plenty of restaurants, bars and cafés dotted around. Après Ski favourites include Husky's Bar, the Memory bar, Heldenbar, and the Dorfstuberl Tenne nightclub. There is also a good range of activities off the slopes, including the Kaiserbad swimming pool, tennis, squash, sleigh rides, curling, skittles, and ice skating.
