Where

Ski Stuben and you'll be based in resort at an altitude of about 1400m. A small and compact ski resort, as part of the Arlberg Ski Area, there are 108 slopes of all varieties rising to an altitude of 2600m. This is most definitely a snow-sure ski resort. Easy to reach, the resort is just two hours drive from the nearest airports.

On the slopes

Part of the Arlberg Ski Area, ski Stuben for 9 slopes in the immediate area that cover more than 15km. Wide pistes and also some nice gentle gradients - with off piste to either side of the runs on the Albonagrat mountain from 2400 down. Of course the main attraction is access to over 275km of prime skiing and boarding terrain of the Arlberg ski area - which really does have something there to suit all levels. There is some great local terrain though and as Stuben ski resort lies at 1400m, with the highest lift taking skiers up to 2600m, you get good snow quality. The longest run covers 8km, and it is possible to ski over to the neighbouring resorts of Lech, St Anton, St Christoph and Zürs with ease. Stuben actually offers the fastest route to the Valluga region of the ski area without being in St Anton itself.

Off the slopes

Stuben ski resort was originally named after the warm parlour - or Stube - of an 18th century shelter in the Arlberg Pass. Amazingly, only 32 houses have been added since then. These days you can stay at the four-star Hotel Post, where mail-coach drivers used to change horses ahead of the arduous journey up the pass. With just a handful of other hotels and restaurants, this is the place to come for a quiet, relaxed winter vacation with countless winter activities on your doorstep.
