Where
Part of the St. Johann-Alpendorf for 30km and 20 pistes, but you are part of the massive Ski Amadé skiing area with over 800km of pistes. Your local pass also allows you to ski at St Johann im Pongau with a direct link to Salzburger Sportwelt and aforementioned Ski Amadé. Access is easy with Salzburg around 60km away and Klagenfurt or Munich within 2 hours - making ski weekends a great option.
On the slopes
Skiers and boarders will find over 30km of well groomed pistes to enjoy when they ski Alpendorf local slopes. Skiing and snowboarding holidays in Austria offer beginners specially landscaped areas with slow finishes, while more advanced Skiers will enjoy the challenge of world cup endurance runs in the ski Amadé area to which you are connected. Look for steep mogul fields, slalom race runs and virgin powder right across this massive area. Snowboarders will love the ski resorts' Snow Park, with its half-pipes, fun boxes, gap jumps, and rails, while if you fancy a change of pace there is excellent cross country skiing.

Off the slopes
Away from the slopes, there's a wide range of accommodation available, including traditional guesthouses in the heart of St Johann, 2km from the ski slopes, or numerous family friendly guesthouses in the small mountain villages dotted around the resort. Popular local restaurants include Hattau in the town of Wargran, Onkel Tom's Hutte, or the popular Buchau Hutte. Nearby Bad Gastein is Austria's most famous spa town, with plenty of activities including thermal baths, tobogganing, and some great shopping.
