The Kühtai ski resort in Austria is one of the highest altitude ski resorts in Austria and also Europe. Located in Kuhtai Village, near the Sellrain Valley and the Tirol the village dates back over 500 years. For children there is a magnificent ski kindergarten that allows parents to venture out to the expert trails while their children learn to ski on beginners hills. There are also plenty of ski tours for those who want to take in the sights from such a high vantage point. Night skiing is also available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Off the slopes
During your stay in Kühtai one local attraction you will want to tour is the Hunting Lodge which was built in 1624 and is a stately castle built into a popular hotel. This is quite an exclusive resort and not that well known in the UK. Après ski activities in the resort are smaller but vibrant among locals and skiers with most taking place in village umbrella bars and throughout the huts that are located across the mountainside. Sleigh rides, snowshoeing, and guided walking tours are also available to those staying here.
