On the slopes

Great for beginners and young children ski holidays in Lech offer highly rated ski schools and gentle nursery slopes in the centre of the village, while intermediates will find abundant choices. Expert skiers should look for off-piste challenges, or head over to St Anton. This is also a great location for boarders, with a park and a half-pipe. And whatever your level, you'll rarely find queues, due to good lifts and strict mountain limits.

Ski area :

If you ski Lech you are also in the ski region of Arlberg along with the following resorts; Lech, St Anton, St Christoph, Stuben, Zurs .

Off the slopes

Accommodation in this ski resort is available in every category, but Lech ski resort favours the top, exclusive, end. After a busy day on the slopes, you'll find plenty of restaurants, open-air snow bars, indoor bars and dancing, and thanks to the tunnel system, Oberlech is a traffic-free zone. Other activities available include a sports centre, indoor golf, curling, ice-skating, tobogganing, snowshoe walking, and winter walks. Those of a romantic disposition can try sleigh rides, and the children will enjoy feeding high-alpine game.

RESORT GOOD POINTS

  • Excellent snow record and extensive snow making
  • Easy access by bus to the slopes of St Anton and other Arlberg resorts
  • Some very smart hotels, including ski-in/ski-out options at Oberlech

RESORT BAD POINTS

  • Very few challenging pistes for real experts
  • Surprising shortage, for a smart resort, of seductive shopping
  • Blue runs back to the village are rather steep for nervous novices
