Great for beginners and young children ski holidays in Lech offer highly rated ski schools and gentle nursery slopes in the centre of the village, while intermediates will find abundant choices. Expert skiers should look for off-piste challenges, or head over to St Anton. This is also a great location for boarders, with a park and a half-pipe. And whatever your level, you'll rarely find queues, due to good lifts and strict mountain limits.

Off the slopes
Accommodation in this ski resort is available in every category, but Lech ski resort favours the top, exclusive, end. After a busy day on the slopes, you'll find plenty of restaurants, open-air snow bars, indoor bars and dancing, and thanks to the tunnel system, Oberlech is a traffic-free zone. Other activities available include a sports centre, indoor golf, curling, ice-skating, tobogganing, snowshoe walking, and winter walks. Those of a romantic disposition can try sleigh rides, and the children will enjoy feeding high-alpine game.
