On the slopes
Ski holidays in Finkenberg in Austria are ideal for families, with a ski school and nursery slopes that are perfect for beginners. There's also good learner terrain at Penken that is easy to reach by gondola. Intermediates will find plenty to occupy them, but experts will probably want to look elsewhere.
However, with access to the huge Ski Zillertal 3000 ski area on the doorstep, it's not hard to find other choices amongst the Austrian ski resorts nearby. For boarders there's a snow park and half-pipe.

Off the slopes
Finkenberg is small, picturesque village best suited for families. Après-ski is limited, favourites include Laterndl and Finken-Nest. There's a good choice of traditional restaurants and cafés, including Alt'n Brük'n, Eberl, and the Café Sennhutten. Away from the slopes you'll find plenty to keep you busy - choices include ice-skating, curling, tobogganing, paragliding, bowling, and over 20kms of winter walks. This ski resort doesn't shut down at the end of the winter, with year round glacier skiing available.
