Off the slopes
Filzmoos is a typical Austrian village dating back to Edwardian times, a perfect choice for winter holidays. Because there is no through-traffic it is quiet, but the après-ski is recommended - there's a good selection of friendly restaurants and bars. You can find international favourites such as pizza, or try some of the local food. Away from the slopes there are other activities to keep you busy including an indoor pool, sleigh rides and some good cross-country skiing.
WE LIKE
- Gentle slopes ideal for beginners with dedicated beginners area within the town
- Picturesque setting and a traditional ski resort in terms of it's heritage
- Access to large ski area as well as some great runs locally and well groomed pistes
|
WE DON'T LIKE
- Nightlife not too lively - but the après-ski is good in the inns and hotels
- very limited skiing close to home for experts
- Snow can get slushy near resort at statr and end of season - but now we're being picky!
