On the slopes

Ski Andorra la Vella with it's 193 kms of marked pistes in the Grand Valira skiing area, with several steep black runs, moguls, and a slalom course. However, it is intermediates who will enjoy this area the most, with a wide variety of well groomed pistes and long cruising runs. It has also become one of the best value snowboard destinations in Europe, with a dedicated lift-served park and half-pipe.

Ski area :

If you ski Andorra La Vella, you are also in the ski region of Grandvalira along with the following resorts; Andorra La Vella, Canillo, El Tarter, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa, Soldeu .

Off the slopes

Accommodation is in town, which means you have plenty of choice for dining out. Traditional Catalan restaurants serve a wonderful range of seafood, delivered fresh from the coast daily. Bars and nightclubs open until 4am, with the mainly Andorran and Spanish clientele provide a more sophisticated atmosphere than many resorts. The town is famous for duty-free shopping, and the Caldea spa is well worth a visit, with indoor-outdoor pools, fountains and waterfalls, saunas, hot-tubs, Turkish baths, hydrotherapy, sunbeds and massage.

RESORT GOOD POINTS

  • Quaint capital city of Andorra
  • Perfectly situated for all ski areas
  • Great choice of facilities and shopping for non-skiers

RESORT BAD POINTS

  • Not exactly on the piste
  • Limited options for skiing close to home
  • Simply not the breadth of slopes available in the Alps
